Beetroot Chapatis

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cup white basmati rice flour - I milled 1 cup of rice into fine flour
  • 1 small beetroot, chopped into matchstick pieces
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ghee

Instructions
 

Method 1

  • Cook the beetroot in some water under a lid for about 20 mins or until very soft to mash.
  • Using a masher, press the beetroot into a smooth puree.
  • Mix the beetroot with one cup of boiling water and make chapatis following my standard Rice Flatbread recipe (link in the notes).

Method 2

  • Alternatively, blend chopped beetroot with the water till smooth in a blender. Then heat it in a pan till boiling. (Add a splash of water to account for the evaporation.)
    Now follow the Rice Flatbread recipe.
