Apple Slice

A quick dessert, full of natural sweetness.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 medium sweet apples, peeled and grated coarsely
  • 1 1/2 cup oat or barley flour - I grind 1 cup of oat groats or pearl barley
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • a little white rice flour - optional

Instructions
 

  • Mix all the ingredients and press the mixture into a glass baking tray or dish with a back of a tablespoon.
  • Optionally, dust the top of the mixture with a little white rice flour. It will create an effect of icing sugar, which looks very appetizing.
  • Bake for ten minutes in 220 C / 430 F fan oven or 240 C / 460F conventional oven. (Alternatively, use lower temperatures but cook for longer.)
  • Take out of the oven and cut into squares directly in the glass tray. Let them cool before adding to another container or a lunchbox.
