This is a fun wrap that will brighten your plate with its rich purple colour.
Beetroot Chapatis
Gluten Free
Equipment
- cast iron pan, optional
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup white basmati rice flour - I milled 1 cup of rice into fine flour
- 1 small beetroot, chopped into matchstick pieces
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp ghee
Instructions
Method 1
- Cook the beetroot in some water under a lid for about 20 mins or until very soft to mash.
- Using a masher, press the beetroot into a smooth puree.
- Mix the beetroot with one cup of boiling water and make chapatis following my standard Rice Flatbread recipe (link in the notes).
Method 2
- Alternatively, blend chopped beetroot with the water till smooth in a blender. Then heat it in a pan till boiling. (Add a splash of water to account for the evaporation.) Now follow the Rice Flatbread recipe.
